Scam Prevention Guide - $850.0 Lost

A reddit report about a impersonation scam that cost someone $850.0. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

I have receipts for everything I bought today and it barely totals up to 70, so the fact that $850 has been taken out of my account by a company i didn’t even know existed until today is insane I don’t even know where to begin… What the hell man life is already hard enough to also have to deal with scams EDIT: I did manage to get in contact with my bank on Sunday- I was able to explain what happened and they closed my card down and I have to go to the bank in person to get a new one (They could have mailed me one but I wanted to go in person to make sure they take care of that charge and I wanted to show my receipts) I did ask about the nature of the charge and they told me that the money was taken from my debit card and not my bank account directly ( I didn’t know there was a name for the type of transaction, I appreciate the commenters who clarified ) Thank you again to everyone who commented This cost me $850.
