Reposting since my first was corrected and removed by moderators. Around 1am last night, I received two phone calls and three text messages from a phone number in my area code. The text messages said the following: [My birth name] answer the fucking phone now! This is Zach. You're so fucked! [My girlfriend's name]'s FUCKED too! I was addressed by my birth name, which I have not gone by in multiple years, and I changed legally in 2024. That was my first indicator that this was not someone who actually knew me, because most people in my life are unaware of this. I called my girlfriend immediately to see that she was okay and check if she knew this person/number, and she doesn't. She's very offline and only has one social media I suspect could be where this information was grabbed from - Facebook. I couldn't find this particular wording as a scam online, and looking up the phone number didn't bring up much. I'm wondering if anyone else has gotten messages like this, and posting so that if anyone else receives the same thing, they'll know it's probably a scam.
